SAINT ANTHONY – San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg briefed the community on the local response to COVID-19 at Thursday night’s briefing.
Nirenberg reported 201,273 COVID-19 cases in total and 2,995 deaths in total in Bexar County, an increase of 77 new cases as of Wednesday. No new deaths have been reported today. The mayor says the lowercase count is attributed to a delay in Curative Labs results.
The 7-day moving average is 146.
City officials also reported that 202 patients are hospitalized, 79 in the intensive care unit and 41 in ventilators. 11% beds are available and 70% fans are available.
In the last 24 hours there were 37 hospital admissions related to COVID.
Nirenberg said 387,892 people have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 215,467 are fully vaccinated in Bexar County.
