A group of archaeologists from the Copán Association warned that the Rosalila issue must be addressed urgently due to years threatening its structure.
Ricardo Agurcia, director of the Copán Association, explained that the temple that is covered by structure 16 is threatened by a number of factors including the growth of microorganisms, algae and lichens on facades, as well as a structural pressure problem that has developed some cracks and fissures, in the same as parts that have fallen and water leaks.

“It is very delicate, pieces of the building are falling, it is essential that we intervene as soon as possible. Each problem has a different solution and we are advising with experts from Mexico and the United States to have a better result.
Agurcia indicated that it is working on an intervention proposal to start singing before the rescue of the temple that is considered a Honduran treasure.
I will assure you that for the first stage of intervention that is urgent in the archaeological site, an investment of 4.1 million lampreys is required, since with the management of the Copà Association it has obtained resources to start the restoration.
The intervention, which must be immediate. It plans to start the first month of next year, as experts say the summer should be taken advantage of and mitigation measures taken.
Intervention
The Mexican archaeologist Karla García, who works with the Copán Association, explained that the intervention required by the Rosalila temple it must be preventive, curative and restorative, in order to delay deterioration.
