LeBron James becomes the second-best scorer in Christmas games

Los Angeles – Lebron James revised the stats just as he was leaving the Staples Center track. That’s when he realized that the Lakers had scored 138 points of which he had contributed just 22.

Defending champions have room for improvement, but they already won in this campaign. And James matched a record.

He became the second-highest scorer in NBA Christmas games, during Friday’s game, a 138-115 Los Angeles victory over the Dallas Mavericks.

Anthony Davis added 28 points, while Montrezl Harrell scored 22, including 17 in the second half. Dennis Shröder totaled 18 points and six assists in what was a second consecutive performance in a row for both players, who recently joined the Lakers, NBA monarchs.

Los Angeles beat Dallas 53-27 on the rebound and got their first win of the campaign, thanks to a dominant performance in the fourth period.

“We have the ability to have four or maybe five players who can score about 20 points every night,” James said. “As long as we stand up and be efficient, it’s very nice to see that.”

Luka Doncic totaled 27 points and seven assists as he starred in his first stellar encounter of the Christmas holiday, for Dallas. Josh Richardson and Trey Burke scored 17 units per head and the Mavs started the campaign with a 0-2 record.

“You can’t win a game if you stay 35-0 on the points line at the second chance to shoot,” Doncic ruled. “It’s that simple.”

James placed second, behind Kobe Bryant, on the list of players with the most points for Christmas. He beat Oscar Robertson in the third period.

The star has 383 points in 15 Christmas games, while Bryant scored 395 in 16 duels.
