The gaming world lost one of its greats last week. Jonas Neubauer, known for his extraordinary skill in Tetris, died January 4th. He was only 39 years old.
Neubauer is the most accomplished classic Tetris player of history. During his competitive career, he won seven Classic Tetris World Championships, winning four years in a row from 2010 to 2013 and achieving a three-to-three repeat from 2015 to 2017. He also set several records, including 2018, when he eliminated 100 lines in three minutes and nine seconds. That era is now the second fastest in the world.
It is with a heavy heart that we give the terrible news that Jonas has died of a sudden medical emergency.
It was the absolute best. We are devastated, overwhelmed with grief and we already miss him so much.
