Watch Dogs: Legion, Ubisoft’s open world hacker game, will be available for free on Xbox, PlayStation and PC from March 25, the developer announced today in a blog post.
The test will give you full access to the open world of gaming. As long as you can complete it Legionthe critical path in less than 20 hours—A lot for a weekend marathon— have no idea: the free trial won’t allow you to advance beyond the “Skye Larsen” campaign mission, which takes place halfway through the game.
You can also try the recently launched multiplayer mode, which, while sporadically entertaining with friends, does disappointing if you are playing with strangers. Earlier today, the multiplayer received its first tactical operation (think: multiplayer mission similar to a cooperative raid), but you won’t be able to turn the process around. You will only be able to play brief cooperative missions and Spiderbot Arena mode.
Ubisoft’s blog post says the free period ends March 29, but a video was uploaded to YouTube he says will end on March 28th. (Update 17:05 ET: In a statement to Kotaku, a spokesman for Ubisoftn clarified this Legionthe free trial ends on May 29.)
Beyond today’s free trial, Ubisoft has detailed the summer roadmap Watch Dogs: Legion:
- Next month, Mina, a new hero, will join the game, but will only be available to those who own the season pass.
- In May, the game’s multiplayer mode will receive a second tactical operation.
- In May, two new competitive modes will also be able to be reproduced: extraction and invasion. It is unclear how these modes will play out. Hopefully they have real people, rather than spider robots.
- The first major expansion of the game will take place in June: Genealogical lines. It will include two characters from the previous ones Watch dogs games: Aiden Pearce (the humorless protagonist of the first game) and Wrench (your fellow DJ mask Watch Dogs 2). Season ticket holders will be able to play like both.
- In August, season ticket holders will be able to play as Darcy, a member of the Ubisoft Assassin Order Assassin’s Creed series.
