CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – State officials have not been informed of additional deaths from the new coronavirus since Saturday morning, according to new data.
As of 10:30 a.m., the Iowa Department of Public Health said 391 people who tested positive for COVID-19 were added to the state total, which is now 332,573 people.
With no changes in the number of people killed due to the disease, the total since the pandemic began remains at 5,336.
Currently, 229 people are hospitalized in Iowa due to COVID-19, a net decline again since the Saturday morning report. 58 of these people are in intensive care units, a net increase of two. 27 of these patients require the use of one ventilator, a net increase of three.
Over the past 24 hours, state officials of 1,960 individuals who were tested for COVID-19 for the first time were informed. The positivity rate of this test batch was 19.9%. Since the start of the pandemic, 1,538,469 people have been tested in the state.
