LG today announced the global launch of its range of soundbars for 2021, with AirPlay 2 support for streaming audio wirelessly from Apple devices such as the iPhone, iPad and Mac. Soundbars also support Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

All 2021 soundbars support both Dolby Atmos and DTS: X surround sound formats, while the “AI Room Calibration” feature promises optimal sound in any environment, using spatial awareness technology to measure dimensions of a room and customize the audio settings of the soundbar accordingly. Many of the newer models also have high-resolution audio certification for lossless 24-bit / 96 kHz playback.
The new range includes the SP11RA, SP9YA, SP8YA, SP7Y and SPD7Y models, with additional models arriving later this year. Availability will begin this month in key markets across North America and Europe, but prices were not revealed.
