British singer Liam Payne has addressed a controversial part of a One Direction music video featuring the character of famous Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein.
One of the band’s most watched music videos, The best song, featured gang member Niall Horan rehearsing the character of the convicted rapist and producer.
Speaking of the song released in 2013, Payne admitted that he regrets adding Weinstein’s character.
During his Instagram Live with video director Ben Winston, it was confirmed that the character was indeed from the fall of Hollywood.
Winston said, “We couldn’t make this video these days. We based a character on Harvey Weinstein. Listen, he was just a famous guy.”
“I know, I often think about it. Jesus Christ, ”Payne added.
For the uninitiated, Harvey Weinstein was found guilty of several sex crimes last February. He is currently serving his 23-year prison sentence at the Wende Correctional Center in Alden, New York.
