The Professional Baseball League of the Dominican Republic (Lidom) will celebrate this Tuesday at 4:00 pm the re-entry draft of native and imported players from eliminated teams, with the intention of the semifinal series of the 2020-2021 championship dedicated to the memory of José Manuel Fernández starting this coming Saturday 2 January.
Through a press release, Lidom reported that the draft will be conducted through the Zoom platform and will be open to the national press.
For this year a new regulation is released that consolidates in a single draft the previous draws of Natives and Imported. Now each of the four semifinalist teams will be able to select a maximum of six players, among whom there will be a minimum of three native players.
Thus, up to a maximum of 24 players available from the Lyceum Tigers and Chosen Lions could be chosen in the re-entry draft.
The selection of the peloteros will become by means of staggered rounds, beginning with the equipment that was in the first place of regular series of the championship, the Giants of the Cibao, followed, in the second turn, by the Cibaeñas Eagles, while that Eastern Bulls and Eastern Stars, will choose third and fourth, respectively, in this first round.
