Lisa Bloom will represent alleged victims of fashion designer Alexander Wang, as reported by Page Six, and the famous civil rights lawyer confirmed this Monday in a post on Instagram. This comes after Bloom made calls on social media to investigate allegations that Wang was palpating and sexually assaulting anonymous men and trans women who submitted their stories to Instagram accounts @ShitModelMgmt and @DietPrada.
“Right now I’m gathering information,” Bloom told The Daily Beast, adding that he has heard “credible” accounts of “at least three” men, but plans to talk to more people throughout the week. “I’ve been frankly bombarded with people,” Bloom added. I did not want to comment on the nature of the allegations.
Wang has flatly denied the allegations, calling the stories “unfounded and grotesquely false” in a statement sent to The Daily Beast last week. He Daily mail posted an email that Wang sent to his staff, saying the allegations were “false” [and] fueled by opportunistic motives. “The designer also posted on Instagram,” My team is doing everything possible to investigate these claims and I promise to stay honest and transparent throughout the process. “
Bloom said Wang’s denial is expected. “I think it’s unfortunate to walk out the door shouting lies at people, especially when there are a number of people making similar allegations,” Bloom added. “I will also say that I think his very aggressive refusal to call people ‘liars’ tends to lead other people to support the first accusers.”
Bloom has represented the women who accused Bill Cosby, Bill O’Reilly and Jeffrey Epstein of sexual harassment and abuse, and was also Harvey Weinstein’s legal counsel in 2017.
