The Dominican Medical College (CMD) expressed its rejection of the flexibility of schedule disputed by the Government on 24 and 31 December because it will lead to great mobility and social gatherings that will affect the further spread of the Covid virus -19.
This was stated yesterday by the president of the guild, Dr. Waldo Suero, to the gentleman that this measure contradicts the biosecurity protocol established in the face of the pandemic and will lead to the massive spread of the virus.
The president of the CMD referred to the provisions announced by the Health Cabinet of the Government of the Presidency of the Republic where it was established that due to the increase in the incidence of coronavirus in the country, the curfew will be at 7:00 at night at 5:00 a.m. with free traffic until 9:00 p.m., in the National District and other contagious mayor territories.
In addition, that on December 24 and 31, Christmas and New Year celebrations, the curfew schedule will be from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am tomorrow and free traffic until 1 : 00 in the morning on December 25 and January 1.
Currently the curfew is from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am Monday through Friday across the country; and on weekends and holidays from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.
“The flexibility announced for December 24 and 31, with free traffic until 1:00 in the morning will allow people to meet in groups and that one person can share in one night with several groups of friends, which increases the risk of spread, ”warned Suero.
He said that flexibility breaks the social distance and that in a festive atmosphere as it happens on Christmas Eve and Christmas no one guarantees that people keep the measure of the use of masks in force.
He noted that although the guild had proposed that the curfew be lowered at 6:00 pm every day, I do not see that the Government has established it from 7:00 pm.

Alcoholic beverages.
The decree issued yesterday includes the prohibition in the national territory, every day from 6:00 pm to 5:00 am, of the expenditure of all types of alcoholic beverages, in any of its presentations, by person or commercial establishment.
Up to 10 people.
The Executive Branch banned in the national territory the meetings of groups of more than 10 people in public places and private places of public use.
Masks.
The measure requires the use of masks in public and private places for public use and social distancing.
