Deputies will debate this Thursday the binding dismissal of the Director of Police, Mauricio Arriaza Chicas for “human rights violations”, before, during and after February 9 in his participation in the military capture of the Assembly.
According to the final report, it will be established that Arriaza Chicas violated the right to vote in favor of the conditions for pressuring and intimidating deputies to vote for an action in which they did not agree, with the legislators representing the city for being elected in a popular vote.

The report states that “as of the night of February 7, 2020, the security agents assigned to deputies were separated from their ordinary work, the Protection Agents for Important Personalities (PPI agents) were summoned to the former headquarters of the political reaction group, remaining there until 11 am on February 8.

Given this, the deputies conclude in the report that will be read this Thursday that “it is clear that the actions carried out by the authorities were coordinated and planned well in advance, as on the one hand left without the protection of PPI agents to deputies of the Legislative Assembly, whereas military cash took possession from the surroundings of the Legislative Palace ”.
They also plan to recommend the removal of the Minister of Defense, Francis Merino Monroy, and also plan to notify the Prosecutor’s Office of the possible commission of the crimes of “rebellion and sedition” to both officials and President Nayib Bukele; the Chief of the Presidential Staff, General Manuel Antonio Acevedo López; of the Chief of the Joint Staff of the Armed Forces, General Carlos Alberto Tejada Murcia.

The actions carried out are framed in Title XVII of the Penal Code: ‘Crimes Relating to the Constitutional System and Public Peace’, which contains the criminal types of rebellion, sedition, proposal, conspiracy and apology for committing rebellion Or sedition, provided for and sanctioned in article 340 and following of said normative body ”, reads part of the report.
Follows the deputies of the FMLN and ARENA, after studying the videos, evidence and testimonies received in the special commission that is obtained on February 9, it is determined that the officials in question are responsible for having participated in a “ Coup d’etat.
