LIVE UPDATES: All Republican Senators Minus 5 Vote to Dismiss Trump Prosecution Trial

Senators swore in the jury on Tuesday over the ousting of former President Trump, as the Senate voted 55 to 45 to end the debate on Sen. Rand Paul’s lawsuit, arguing that the ousting trial is unconstitutional now that Trump is out of office.

Five GOP senators voted not to dismiss President Trump’s indictment: Susan Collins, Maine, Lisa Murkowski, Alaska, Ben Sasse, Neb, and Pat Toomey, Pa, and Mitt Romney, Utah. They voted with all 50 Democratic senators to raise the issue of order.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, who has indicated he has an open mind about whether Trump should be convicted, voted against ending the debate.
