Former NFL executive Michael Lombardi, now a writer for The Athletic, recently joined SiriusXM’s The wrapper and he seemed sure he at least knows what the San Francisco 49ers are they are not making the No. 3 overall pick. The team shifted to the spot on March 26, delivering four draft picks, including its own first players in the next three drafts, to move up to No. 12 spots.
The three candidates with the best bets to be the first team in San Francisco are Justin Fields of Ohio State, Mac Jones of Alabama and Trey Lance of the state of North Dakota, in that order.
Lombardi is convinced it won’t be Fields, though.
“Can I tell you the news I’ve heard? Justin Fields won’t go to number 3,” Lombardi told Patrick Meagher (h / t Sasha D. Robinson). “That’s what I heard.”
The writer acknowledges that there are skeptics on Twitter who believe he could be wrong. He even has a message for them.
“Where do you get your information?” Lombardi asked hoarsely. “Like, do you have better sources than me? Good luck. Good luck. I’m just telling you that if it’s not Mac Jones, it’s Trey Lance. So take this [how] vols, Patrick. Please do whatever you want. “
Fields worked against the 49ers and other NFL teams last week, which made him jump over Jones in the eyes of the odds. On Monday, Lance will train against the Niners, which could increase his chances of being No. 3 overall.

Mac Jones vs. Justin Fields or Trey Lance. This is the big debate regarding the San Francisco 49ers and the 2021 NFL Draft. While the last two names are more likely to excite the fan base, there is much speculation that the former could be the option number 3 in general. A former 49ers defender, cornerback Richard Sherman, doesn’t assume it will be Jones, however. In fact, he sees Fields as the perfect fit for San Francisco, assuming Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson take on the top two picks. Cornerman Tre’Davious White, the latest guest on the Cris Collinsworth Podcast, who co-hosts Sherman, also believes the 49 will select Fields. It’s not easy to understand that San Francisco ceded several first-round picks and one

With Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson almost a lock to reach No. 1 and No. 2, San Francisco can go with Justin Fields of Ohio, Trey Lance of North Dakota or Mac Jones of Alabama. . Linsey has San Francisco with the player who has been the popular choice among 49ers fans: Fields. “Fields game has been placed under the file

No one questions Justin Fields ’athletics. Some question the former Ohio State quarterback’s ability to quickly move from college game to professional. Mark Sanchez recently joined The Pat McAfee Show and explained why Fields ’ability to learn an NFL game book may not take as long as some might anticipate. Maybe all his skeptics, who want to find ways to bring down the quarterback, are wrong. “For Justin, this guy, Dr. Goldman, is a sports psychologist; I talked to him yesterday,” Sanchez (h / ta Jordan Cohn of 95.7 The Game) said. “It has some interesting

There was a lot of talk about the absences of San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, and the absences of general manager John Lynch on the Ohio State professional day last week. Instead of traveling to Columbus to see quarterback Justin Fields, a candidate to be selected with the team’s No. 3 overall selection, the duo was in Tuscaloosa during Alabama’s professional day, attending Mac Jones. Why Jones over Fields? “[Just] talking to Fields’ agent [David Mulugheta] and all, we’ll get another one too, “Shanahan explained last week, according to Kirk Larrabee.” So we can see it. That made it an easy decision. ”According to Fields’ agent, that next opportunity will come
