The Los Angeles Chargers have agreed a five-year contract with free agent center Corey Linsley, according to a source Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
The movement fills a huge void for the chargers. Dan Feeney had moved to center last season on guard after Mike Pouncey moved to the reserve injured in September with a hip injury. Pouncey retired this offseason.
Linsley earned first-team All-Pro honors last season, becoming the first Green Bay Packers center to do so since Jim Ringo in 1963.
He started 13 games, missing three due to a knee injury, but returned in time for the playoffs. He helped the Packers tie for second in the NFL in fewer sacks allowed and was part of the offensive with more goals in the NFL.
The Ohio State Fifth Round 2014 pick became an immediate rookie rookie and has 99 regular season seasons beginning in the 2014 season. It had a stretch from the end of the 2016 season to at the start of the 2019 season, when he was on the field for more than 2,700 offensive managerial attacks.
Linsley, 29, signed a $ 25.5 million three-year extension with Green Bay at the end of the 2017 season.
He was one of two Packers offensive line holders to enter the 2020 season in the final year of his contract. The team signed David Bakhtiari, All-Pro’s left-wing attack, with a four-year, $ 103.5 million extension in November. Bakhtiari broke his ACL in practice on December 31 and may not be ready for the start of the regular season.
