Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer remains on administrative leave until Sept. 3

Major League Baseball and the Players Association again extended the administrative license of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer for a week until Sept. 3.

This is the seventh extension as investigators investigate allegations of sexual misconduct against Bauer.

MLB may unilaterally place a player on administrative leave for up to seven days under a joint domestic violence policy, but must obtain the consent of the MLB Players Association thereafter. Bauer has not been with the Dodgers since he was initially put on leave on July 2.

Bauer, 30, has been accused by a woman of suffocation until she lost consciousness on multiple occasions, hitting several areas of her body and leaving her with wounds that required hospitalization in the course of two sexual encounters in earlier this year, according to a restraining order for domestic violence that was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on June 28, of which ESPN obtained copies.

A temporary restraining order against Bauer was denied Aug. 19 after Los Angeles High Court Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman ruled against the woman’s request.
