On Saturday, the city’s website for COVID-19 vaccine registration showed an option for people over the age of 16 to book an appointment at city-managed vaccination sites.
The change to the city’s website comes days before California is officially in place to extend vaccine eligibility to residents of that age group.
Currently, statewide eligibility allows people 50 and older to have an appointment with the vaccine. California residents 16 years of age or older will be officially eligible on April 15, but other local municipalities have opted to open it sooner, including Long Beach.
