Los Bukis Reunion: Videos Show Parents Overwhelmed with Emotion When Children Surprise Them with Concert Tickets

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (KABC) – After 25 years, legendary Mexican band Los Bukis are back together for sold-out concerts at Ingwood’s SoFi Stadium starting Friday.

When the band announced the historic reunion, it sparked deep, sweet nostalgia for generations of many Latino families, and a flood of videos on social media of children surprising their parents and grandparents with tickets to the show.

A video showed brothers dressed as Los Bukis for Father’s Day and then handing out tickets to their parents, who were crying.

The video shows the San Bernardino couple starting to dance. Her daughter told Eyewitness News that they all grew up listening to Los Bukis, a band that is important to their parents because it reminds them when they started dating. However, until now they have never had the opportunity to attend a concert.

“I think it was that big moment for this generation because we were saying‘ What can we give them? “… Because they’re always working: early in the morning and at night,” said Melissa Rios, personality of Cali’s 93.9 antenna.

Rios also surprised his father with tickets for the show and posted the moment on Instagram. She got excited talking about what that meant to her.

“That’s why I work. That’s why he brought me here. It’s very strange to say, but I feel that being able to live that moment with my father is priceless,” he said.

“I’m 31. I’ve seen my father cry twice: when my grandmother died, when I gave him these tickets.”

His father passed on his love for Los Bukis to his children and grandchildren, an experience many can relate to.

“We gave tickets here in Cali 93.9. The number of calls, the amount of tears, the number of people who called and said, ‘I wish my mother, I wish my father, I wish my grandparents were here.’ , Rios said.

“This is not just a regional genre. This is our lifestyle.”
