Recently obtained police camera footage shows a Louisiana state soldier hitting a black motorcyclist 18 times with his flashlight after a 2019 traffic stop that has since been scrutinized by the feds.
Aaron Larry Bowman, 46, had several broken bones and a crack in his head as a result of a May 2019 deputy beating that forced him out of the car and to the ground after stopping him nearby. from his home in Monroe, The Associated. The press reported on Wednesday.
“I can’t resist! I can’t resist! Bowman can be heard shouting between blows in a shocking video obtained by the AP.
The images allegedly show Jacob Brown, a 31-year-old white soldier, triggering the attack. Brown resigned from the department last March.
He is under federal investigation, has been hit by state officials for the beating and state police have found he had “participated in excessive and unjustifiable actions.”
Brown can be seen in Bowman with whale video with an 8-inch aluminum flashlight reinforced with a pointed end to break the car’s glass.

“Give me your hands …” the soldier shouted. “I’m not messing with you.”
Bowman tried to explain that he was a dialysis patient, that he hadn’t done anything wrong, and that he couldn’t resist, saying, “I’m not fighting you, you’re fighting me.”

Brown responded with, “Close the f … and ‘Don’t listen.’
From the ground, Bowman can later be heard moaning. “I’m bleeding!”
“They hit me in the head with a flashlight!”
In a statement to the AP, state police said Brown had not reported the use of force to his supervisors and that he “intentionally mislabeled” his body camera video.
After the meeting, Brown claimed that Bowman had beaten a deputy. The soldier said he used force to “fulfill the pain” in order to put the handcuffs on the motorist.
Bowman denied hitting anyone and is not seen in the video being violent with officers.
He is facing charges for the incident, including a police officer’s battery, resisting an officer and the traffic violation for which he was initially detained, improper use of the lane.
