Louisiana Tech quarterback Luke Anthony suffered a serious injury in Saturday’s game against DCU and was forced to go to hospital for surgery, coach Schip Holtz said.
Anthony appeared to have injured his right ankle in the fourth quarter of the Bulldogs loss. The game was stopped for 10 minutes when medical staff attended the quarterback.

Holtz told The News Star on his Post Game radio show: “He loves his teammates and appreciates them.” It was hard for a player to go through that as a coach. “

Louisiana Tech and DCU’s Twitter accounts tweeted their congratulations to Anthony.
DCU quarterback Max Duggan, who beat the Horned Frogs 52-10, said Anthony felt bad.

“I feel him,” he said. “I had an ankle injury in my junior year (in high school). He was a great player. I pray for him.”
Abilene Christian’s graduate replacement Anthony has amassed only 1,479 passing yards, 16 touchdown passes and five interceptions in nine games for the Louisiana Tech this season.

The Bulldogs are 5-4 this season, and its five games have been postponed or canceled due to the Corona virus-ridden season.
