“There is news that we know will inevitably come into our lives. Yesterday I received one of those. With the transparency that characterizes me, the shared that my adored father, my hero, one of the greatest love he has in life, has left this world.
Rafael Antonio Del Río Pérez was a great man and the best of his parents. He was always there in my best and worst moments. I am left with the satisfaction of living proud of myself. My old man enjoyed each of my achievements as if they were his own. And they were because thanks to the opportunities he and my mother gave me, it led me to become the woman I am today.
A photographer by profession, and a born communicator, Dad taught me to love images. An excellent chess player and self-taught par excellence, he was always able to have a pleasant conversation, the same with a bricklayer as with a lawyer.
It had been years since Alzheimer’s deprived me of his company and his keen intelligence and now Covid took it all in stride. For those who think the coronavirus is not real, think again. The enemy is still present and stalking us, we have to keep taking care.
