Fans of the American version of Love Island can breathe a sigh of relief after CBS renewed the series for a third season.

“The third season is coming soon,” he read the fake text apparently sent from CBS, which added the hashtags, “#Aloha,” “#BackOnIslandTime” and “#ItsTheNewSeasonForMe.”

The renewal was also announced by CBS senior executive vice president of programming Thom Sherman during the network’s press tour event.

So far, no cast members have been revealed for next season and no release date has been announced.

The first season of the American version of the popular UK reality competition was set in Fiji, but the second season had to reside at The Cromwell Hotel in Las Vegas, as all competitors put on in quarantine amid the coronavirus pandemic.

It seems that CBS is betting that they can present the program safely in a more appropriate place this time, although current estimates are that the U.S. may not get the herd immunity through vaccines until well into the fall.
