The LSU went on the road and thanked Florida 6th on 37-34 for a last-minute field goal Saturday night, which was only possible after a Gators defender threw a shoe, resulting in a personal penalty. The Tigers were down to third in the fourth quarter when Cole Taylor caught a pass 6 yards out of the first-down mark, forcing there to have been a punt of course. But cornerback Marco Wilson took off Taylor’s shoe and threw it on the field, drawing several flags from the referees. Then the Sixes play, Kate York 57-yard, with 23 seconds left on the field goal to win the game. Teased with reporters, saying he thanked one of the staff for the tool that “loosened” the shoe so it could be easily removed. Florida coach Dan Mullen said he did not watch the play. “I don’t know,” he said. “I think it’s a fine. I do not know what happened.” Despite conceding a total of 418 yards, Wilson did not blame Mullen for the foot or the defense as a whole. Instead, he pointed to the return of the offense as the inability to score as factors for loss in the red zone. “It’s not a very complicated deal,” Mullen said. “… I thought our guys played hard.
