President Luis Abinader led the ribbon-cutting alongside the director of the National Health Service (SNS), doctor Mario Lama, of the Pedro Emilio de Marchena Hospital and the Primary Care Clinical and Diagnostic Center in the municipality of Bonao, this Sunday, Buildings that will benefit more than 60,000 people with health care.
The building of the Pedro Emilio de Marchena hospital, Delivered by the Government to the National Health Service (SNS), will be operational in the coming days after the staff will be trained to provide assistance to users.
The center has 16 offices, three of Pediatrics, three of Gynecology and Obstetrics, 6 general, two of Dentistry and two of Ophthalmology; special areas for Tuberculosis and Vaccines, as well as a modern Laboratory, Imaging area, consisting of 32-cut Tomography, Mammography, Densitometry, Sonography, Echocardiography and an X-ray room.
Also, the surgical block of the hospital has two surgery rooms and two delivery rooms with their corresponding pre-surgical and post-surgical, prepartum and postpartum rooms.
The executive director of the NHS, Dr. Mario Lama, stressed the importance of the entry into operation of this center, which comes to close a major health gap in this province of the country.
“With the delivery of this hospital, residents of Bonao and nearby areas will save time and money on relocation when they need health services,” he added.
The center is located on Avinguda Les Hortènsies, next to the Duarte motorway.
