The hissing was put in controversy again by a play that did not sanction in favor of Rayados, by a penalty against the Rays of Necaxa
Whistler Luis Enrique Santander once again challenged the refereeing, for the decisions taken in the match between the Rayos de la Necaxa and the Rayados de Monterrey, within the seventh day of the Guard1anes Clausura Tournament 2021.
Felipe Ramos Rizo, former referee and analyst at ESPN, Posted on his social media that “being in front of the play, Santander does not sanction a very clear penalty.”
The former sibilant indicated the above after in a play there was a foul on Alfonso González, an element of the Rayados, in the area of the premises, but was not noted by Santander.
Another controversial move occurred when a supposed goal was given, after goalkeeper Edgar Hernández tried to contain a shot from the opponent, lowered the ball and it looked like the ball crossed the finish line.
In the end, the referee did not notice anything in this play, so at that time maintained the advantage of Rayados by 1-0 in the confrontation played at the Victoria Stadium.
Santander had to resort several times to the revision of the VAR, in plays that could not resolve on the court. The goal of Necaxa’s tie was up for debate by an alleged offside, but after the silent review of the video refereeing, the annotation was validated.
The center was criticized for canceling a goal to Pumes, for an alleged offside by Emanuel Montejano, who did not participate in the play. This decision, opened the door for Toluca to beat the university 1 to 0.
Santander was appointed as the central judge in the duel between Necaxa and Monterrey, and will appear as VAR in the match between Querétaro against Puebla, despite being singled out last day for a controversial refereeing decision at Toluca against Pumas.
