Mac Jones is QB1 according to the former NFL coach

The 2021 NFL draft class is loaded with quarterback talent, ranging from a variety of systems, playing styles and skills.

For quite some time, it has been unanimously agreed that former Clemson outfielder Trevor Lawrence will be the No. 1 overall pick, this year belonging to Jacksonville.

Other names, such as Zach Wilson of BYU, Trey Lance of NDSU, Justin Fields of Ohio and Mac Jones of Alabama, are expected to be called up in the first round, after Lawrence.

The classification of quarterbacks after Lawrence is an often debated topic. Some argue that Fields will be the second quarterback eliminated, while others believe Wilson is the real ‘QB2’.

Former NFL Chargers and Falcons coach June Jones has a unique proposal. He does not seek to discuss who is the second best in the draft class.

He believes the best quarterback available in the 2021 NFL draft is former Crimson Tide Heisman finalist Mac Jones.

“Mac’s deep ball accuracy is probably the best I’ve qualified in my quarterbacks coaching years,” June Jones said. “It’s almost 55% over 20 yards, which is amazing.”

Jones also received high praise for his ability to read his options.

“(Mac Jones) is a receiving observer,” June Jones said. “I could tell I saw it on TV when they had the right camera angle. And I think that’s huge for him. It’s like throwing the ball deep. “

Jones is currently scheduled to be a mid-late selection in the first round.

Roll Tide Wire will release all updates on Mac Jones ’ranking status ahead of the 2021 NFL draft.
