I’m not going to lie friends - these are cross-arts that I never thought I should do.

The venerable Wizards of the Coast card game series has had some peculiar crossings along the years. But things will only get weirder and more wonderful with an expansion from their latest crossover to a real one Magic multiverse that would make even the more experienced planeswalkerturn of the head: lord of the Rings i Warhammer 40,000.

Polygon reports today that during a call to Hasbro investors, Wizards of the Coast announced a new line of Magic called collaborations Universes beyond. As its name suggests, the new set of letters will host collaborations with other licenses beyond those created by Wizards.

Tthe first two new additions to the line are as wild as you might expect: Wizards is formally partnering with Middle-Earth Enterprises and Games Workshop to bring the worlds of lord of the Rings i Warhammer 40,000 (you would think they would go in favor Age of Sigmar instead, but maybe someday?) in the card game. So far no further details have been revealed on the things we really want to know, such as how many lands we have to touch to play Baharroth, the cry of the wind, or if Gandalf manages to summon diseases when you bring him back as Gandalf the White.

But suffice it to say that we are excited. We will provide you with more information Magic: The Gathering – Universes Beyond how and when we learn it.

Update: In a new block publish detailing Universes beyond, Wizards of the Coast clarified that the new line will be clearly separated from its standard card versions, with a special badge that will denote collaborative cards. The releases will cover multiple Magic formats, including a Warhammer 40,000 Commander Deck, and not strictly limited to “Secret Lair” falls like recent collaborations The walking Dead.

In addition, they noted that Adventures in the forgotten kingdoms, el close Dungeons and dragons set, in fact will not be considered part of the line and the mark will only be used for Magic collaborations with licenses outside the properties of Wizards of the Coast: we have updated the language of the previous version of this post to reflect this clarification.
