A man injured two staff members of a coronavirus vaccination center in eastern Germany on Saturday after he was denied a vaccination certificate that he demanded without having been inoculated.
The German news agency dpa reported that the individual, whose identity was not disclosed due to national privacy rules, attacked and injured a nurse and an assistant during a vaccination event in Gera, a city of the East Germany.
Police said the man approached the mobile vaccination center team, refused to receive the injection and became violent at not receiving a certificate.
The two assailants, who were also not identified by name, had to be treated at a hospital, but were later discharged. Police later arrested the attacker in a nearby parking lot.
His identity was known to police because he had registered for vaccination in advance, the dpa reported. The man was slightly injured in the attack.
