A man died the weekend a United States during a baby shower because of the explosion of a small cannon used in the event per reveal the sex from’ baby, Reports today the CBS channel.
According to the report, the cannon explode when it was shot up in the backyard of a house in the town of Municipality of Gaines, en Michigan.
The accident caused the device to throw cracks, which hit a 26-year-old man who was seriously injured and died shortly afterwards in a hospital, local authorities said.
The victim was identified as 26-year-old Evan Thomas Silva.
Three parked cars and the garage where the baby shower was held were also hit by shrapnel, according to the report.
Michigan police said it was suspected that gunpowder placed in the device caused the barrel to fracture.
The owner of the cannon had acquired it at auction and had already been fired several times before the explosion.
Authorities did not provide further details of the case, but an investigation is underway.
