Manchester Memorial Hospital and Rockville General Hospital cancel all COVID-19 vaccination appointments that were scheduled at VAMS as of February 4, 2021, due to supply shortages.
According to the Eastern Connecticut Health Network announcement, this is a temporary pause in vaccine clinic operations.
Those who received the first dose of the vaccine at either site and had an appointment scheduled for the second dose should arrive at that appointment.
Those who had scheduled an appointment via VAMS for or after February 4, 2021, may attempt to reschedule it to an alternate site via the website.
ECHN said those in need of a second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna can be scheduled up to six weeks after the first dose without restarting the series.
Other health systems, including UConn Health and Waterbury Hospital, have also had to cancel appointments due to a shortage of vaccines.
“We apologize to those affected by this cancellation and we want to make sure that we are making every effort to receive additional doses of COVID-19 vaccine on time. Please note that this is a temporary delay and we ask for your patience. process because the demand to receive the vaccine is high, ”says a health system statement.
