Manchester United: Colombian goals James Rodriguez, Camilo Zuñiga Rodallega, Hamilton Ricard | Colombians Abroad

James Rodríguez has managed to get on a select list of Colombian footballers: those “blessed” who have managed to score him at Manchester United, for many the most important team in the history of English football.

The Cucuteño winger closes the list that Hamilton Ricard started years ago and through which a couple more footballers have passed. Eye on each case:

Hamilton Ricard (Middlesbourgh)

Back in the 98-99 Premier League season (December 19), Ricard led his team to victory against what would become European champions a few months later. As a new born area, the Chocoano received great assistance from the right wing and defined in front of the attentive gaze of the public at Old Trafford.

Hugo Rodallega (Wigan)

It took ten years for a Colombian to celebrate again in front of the ‘Red Devils’. During the 2008-09 season, on day 33, Rodallega opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a shot from the left that left Van der Sar without a choice, but then Tévez and Carrick came back.

Camilo Zuñiga (Watford)

This time they spent eight seasons to see a new Colombian joy. During the 2016-17 season, Zuñiga came in at 82 minutes and then scored 60 seconds. A goal identical to that of Ricard, passed back from the right and definition with the bow available. That was the second of three goals Watford scored against United.

James Rodriguez (Everton)

From eight we move on to four seasons. In the current 2020-21, James made it 2-2 in the 52nd minute with a powerful left-footed shot that left David De Gea with no choice. In the end everything would be tied 3-3.
