Manchester United reached their biggest goal in 26 years on Tuesday by beating Southampton 9-0 to end the match with nine players after two direct reds.
The match was marked by the expulsion in the first minute of Alexandre Jankewitz, who made a staff shot to Scott McTominay and was immediately expelled by referee Mike Dean.

With one player less, Southampton were at the mercy of Manchester United, who were quietly looking for the goal until they found it in the 18th minute in a cross that ended up alone on the second post Wan-Bissaka.

To finish off Ralph Hasenhuttl’s work, Bednarek was sent off five minutes from time by a penalty on Martial and Bruno Fernandes joined the party scoring the seventh. With nine Southampton players on the green, Martial was eighth and Daniel James ninth, scoring the most in the United Premier League since 1995, when he also won 9-0 at Ipswich Town. .
The ‘Red Devils’ maintain second place in the table, tied on points with Manchester City, but with two more games. Southampton drops to twelfth place, with 29 units.
