Manny Pacquiao is said to have visited an ophthalmologist to examine his right eye

Boxer Manny Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KO’s) reportedly visited an ophthalmologist earlier this week to have his right eye checked, according to a report from the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

In a Tuesday post on his wife Jinkee’s Instagram, Pacquiao was being fed a spoon while his eyes were closed.

The Philippine newspaper cited as a source the boxer’s lawyer and assistant, Tom Falgui, who said Pacquiao would go to the ophthalmologist on Tuesday to have his right eye examined.

No further information has been released about the visit to the specialist.

Pacquiao was defeated by unanimous decision against Cuban Yordenis Ugás (27-4-0, 12 KOs) last Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The possibility of withdrawal for the Philippine senator became a central issue after the fight where the World Boxing Association welterweight belt was contested.

“In my heart, I want to keep fighting,” Pacquiao said at the post-fight press conference. “But I have to consider, too, my body.”
