Margaret “The Goddess of Cumbia” is vaccinated against Covid-19

Yucatán.- This Saturday the singer of Colombian origin, Margarita Maria de Santa Teresa, Known as Margaret “The Goddess of Cumbia” was vaccinated against Covid-19 in a unit of the ISSSTE in Mutul, Yucatán, Generating a strong controversy in the state since, local residents say he does not live here, also not an adult.

Through social media, in different photographs spread, it was reported that the singer came to the medical unit to receive the vaccine.

In a video shared on social media the singer mentions that he was already cowboy against the Covid-19 and invited the population not to be distrustful, a situation that caused harsh criticism against the singer.

In as much some versions indicate that Margarita was taken by the pre-candidate of the PA to the mayorship of the municipality, since Aremy Mendoza Cuevas shared some of the images in which it is observed to him along with the singer, who apparently takes the same clothing than in the broadcast video.

After the event, residents of Mutul expressed their displeasure because they said that the singer is not a neighbor of this town, and is not part of the sector that must be vaccinated, as the singer is 60 years old.

Following this, the Yucatan government released a statement explaining that the Secretary of Health, Mauricio Sauri Vives, was asking the national health authorities for responsibility in handling the vaccines.

As well as investigating allegations and reports pointing to the vaccination of people who are not part of the federal census of older adults for vaccination.
