Mocking airport security at a time when authorities are stepping up their measures has been a real feat for 69-year-old Marilyn Hartman, from whom not even the investigators are surprised.
For 19 years this woman, with white hair and a “noble” smile, traveled the world without even needing a passport or a plane ticket. Authorities call it the “serial stowaway.”
After being discovered the woman told authorities that when she arrived at the airport she passed in the middle of the other passengers by the security checkpoints, then in the waiting room, got on the plane and looked for a seat. When it was discovered in a very polite way, any excuse was invented or disguised.

On March 16, Hartman was arrested at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago, after violating his parole. The woman was wearing an electronic bracelet on her ankle after she was released from Cook County Jail. She was placed under house surveillance in March 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

According to research he began traveling without paying a single penny in 2002. He traveled to several states in the United States, Paris and London, among others. On August 14, the woman was warned after trying to enter a ticketless security checkpoint, and twelve days later she was arrested again at an airport terminal for criminal transfer, CNN reports.
The arrests continued in 2015, 2016 and 2018, in the last year she was arrested in London after traveling from Chicago without a plane ticket.
In 2019 she was arrested again in O’Hare, Chicago, while trying to pass a security check without a passport or identification, then was placed under house surveillance after being attacked in prison and at risk by Covid- 19.
Following her arrest on Tuesday, Marilyn Hartman was taken back to the Cook County Jail where she remains without bail for violation of her parole. The Sheriff’s Office told CNN he also faces a $ 100,000 bail for attempted escape. He appeared in court on Thursday and will have to appear again on March 22 and April 7.
