Marilyn Manson is being investigated for domestic violence

Los Angeles. the rocker Marilyn manson is involved in an investigation into domestic violence related to incidents allegedly a decade ago, the Los Angeles County Police Department said.

“Los Angeles County Police Department’s Special Victims Bureau Investigates Domestic Violence Charges Involving Mr. Brian Warner, Also known as ‘Marilyn Manson’, who works in the music industry, ”the department said in a statement. “The incidents took place between 2009 and 2011 when Mr. Warner lived in the city of West Hollywood.”

The department, which provides police services in West Hollywood, gave no additional details.

The announcement about the investigation comes less than three weeks after the actress Evan Rachel Wood publicly accusing her fiancé of sexual and physical abuse, alleging that she was “manipulated to submission” during their relationship.

Manson, 52, said the allegations were “horrible distortions of reality.”

Wood, who stars in HBO’s “Westworld” series, had previously testified that he was in an abusive relationship, but did not name the person until he detailed his allegations on Instagram on Feb. 1.

“My abuser’s name is Brian Warner, known to the world as Marilyn Manson,” Wood said. “She started harassing me when I was a teenager and horribly abused me for years.”

The relationship of the now 33-year-old actress and Manson was made public in 2007, when he was 38 and she 19, and they were briefly engaged in 2010 before separating.

Manson responded to Wood’s allegations the same day with his own post on Instagram.

“Obviously my art and my life have been magnets of controversy for a long time, but these recent accusations about me are horrible distortions of reality,” he wrote. “My intimate relationships have always been completely consensual with couples who think like me. Regardless of how, or why, others now choose to misrepresent the past, that’s the truth.”

In 2018 Los Angeles County prosecutors refused to file charges against Manson on charges of sexual assault and abuse dating back to 2011 arguing that they could not do so because the case had expired and for lack of corroboration. The accuser was identified only as an acquaintance of Manson’s.

On this occasion Manson denied the allegations through his lawyer.

The Associated Press does not usually identify people who claim to have been sexually abused unless they decide to speak publicly, as Wood has done.
