Maripily reveals that she has been the victim of violence by her ex-partner

Model and businesswoman Maripily Rivera revealed she had been the victim of gender-based violence by her ex-partner, whom she met in Los Angeles and maintained a six-month relationship.

According to an interview by the businesswoman with People magazine in Spanish, there were three incidents of violence with the Pakistani builder: during a visit to Maripily’s sister’s house; a month ago, in a beach house in Puerto Rico, and -which was the trigger- last Friday in the businesswoman’s apartment in Miami.

The abuse, Maripily explains, was both verbal and physical. “He made fun of me, of how I talked, he said my friendships were crazy. He called me crazy. That we Latinos don’t know how to talk,” he told the magazine.

But last Friday the aggression was physical.

“I talked to him and I told him we had to break up and I was going to give him a few days to look for where to go and it all came off because he went to drink on Friday and he got drunk and started yelling at me (he told me) that my son had to apologize to him, because at one point (when he raped me), my son Joe Joe was at home and told him he had to go out of the house and he told me that my son had to apologize to him and that he was crazy. (I said to him): ‘You are disrespectful to my son, don’t talk about my son. And if I am a madwoman, since you have to go now, you’re going to have to leave my house otherwise I’m going to call the police to get you out. ‘”

Maripily narrates that while she was packing her bags, he grabbed her by the neck and threw her on the floor. “I fall into my son’s bed and to protect my head and not get stripped with the wood in the corner, I go to the ribs. When he saw me lying on the floor, he got scared and left the home “. He then called the police and filed a complaint.
