Mark Brunell will be the new coach of the Lions QB

The Detroit Lions continue to add former NFL players to the coaching staff. Mark Brunell, a longtime NFL quarterback, will be hired as the new coach of the QB team, according to several reports.

Brunell interviewed the Lions this week and their hiring is expected to end soon. He currently works as a radio host in Jacksonville, where he spent the high points of his long acting career.

Brunell has experience as a coach but only at the high school level. He played 17 years in the NFL, starting with the Green Bay Packers as a fifth-round draft pick in 1993 outside of Washington. He played for the Packers, Jaguars, Jets, Washington and the Saints, where Brunell ended his career as a teammate for new Lions coach Dan Campbell. Brunell, on the left, was one of the best double-threat QBs of his time.
