A new investigation of The Washington Post discloses damning details about Chief of Staff Mark Meadows’ efforts to keep a coronavirus outbreak in the White House a secret to the public. Meadows was working to hide when members of the White House team tested positive for coronavirus, according to the report. He tried to hide his own diagnosis and told at least one other member of the White House team to shut up about being positive at COVID.
According to the Publication, Meadows also threatened to fire doctors from the White House Medical Unit if they reported an increasing number of coronavirus cases. An unnamed official said Meadows told them the White House “has no obligation to communicate to the press or the public that Joe Schmo, who works at the White House, has given a positive.” The United States has lost more than 313,000 lives so far from the coronavirus pandemic, more than any other country in the world. Experts say the lack of a unified federal response is primarily the culprit.
