Markle, Harry’s marriage certificate contradicts the secret claim of the marriage: report

According to a report, the marriage certificate of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle contradicts the Duchess of Sussex’s claim that they had secretly tied the knot in the backyard garden before their lavish public vow exchange.

During her TV interview with Oprah Winfrey, Markle said she and Harry had been engaged three days before their much-publicized ceremony in 2018.

But the document The Sun obtained from the General Secretariat confirms that the wedding took place on May 19 of that year at Windsor Castle.

The media also reported that the official who drafted the couple’s wedding license dismissed Markle’s claim.

“I’m sorry, but it’s clear that Meghan is confused and clearly uninformed. They didn’t get married three days before to the Archbishop of Canterbury,” Stephen Borton, a former secretary general of the faculty office, told The Sun.

“What I suspect they did was exchange some simple vows that they might have written themselves, and that is fashionable, and they said that in front of the archbishop, or, more likely, it was a simple rehearsal,” he added. Borton.

During the session with Oprah, Markle said, “You know, three days before our wedding, we got married. Nobody knows. The vows we framed in our room are just the two of us in the backyard with the Archbishop of Canterbury. “

She said she and Harry called the archbishop, Rev. Rev. Justin Welby, and they asked him to marry them at his home in Nottingham Cottage.

“Only us,” the prince intervened.

Borton threw cold water on his claim.

“They could not have been married on the grounds of Nottingham Cottage as it is not an authorized place and there were not enough witnesses present. You cannot marry only three people. It is not a valid ceremony,” he told The Sun.

“Any certificate you may have of your vows on the wall is not an official marriage certificate,” he continued. “The wedding took place in the chapel of Sant Jordi under the conditions stipulated by the law of royal marriages of 1772, which has recently been modified.

“In order for them to marry, a special license was drawn up and the writing of Her Majesty the Queen was authorized authorizing the marriage and the official place.”

Witnesses to the document are recorded as the mother of Prince Charles and Markle, Doria Ragland, according to the report.

The Sun said he paid the £ 42 fee (about $ 58) for the certificate, which includes Harry as a “bachelor”, his occupation as “Prince of the United Kingdom” and Markle as a “divorced” and as the “actor.”

A spokesman for the archbishop said he would not comment to The Sun on personal or pastoral issues.
