
Marvel’s Midnight Suns it was certainly one of the highlights of the recent Gamescom Opening Night Live event; although it was a cinematic revelation, it was a showy title that was confirmed to come to Switch along with other systems. Developed by Firaxis, perhaps the previous ports of the studio’s major releases – XCOM Collection 2 i Civilization VI by Sid Meier – Helped convince the gentlemen’s 2K release that Nintendo’s platform was within reach.
Of course, Firaxis working on a Marvel game made us wonder what the real game would be like, imagining a Marvel x XCOM scenario. Now there are a couple of new videos showing the game and it looks pretty interesting. First of all, here is the most viewed of the latest videos:
The following video provides a more realistic view and an overview of the game. Battles are tactical, but use cards you win for varied skills. There is also the possibility of using teammates together for special moves that bind to the mechanics of the relationship; Yes, it sounds a bit like Fire Emblem. There’s also a center that serves as a home for midnight suns, and this is an area to explore, experience more history, and of course, build relationships with the characters.
It should also be noted that the development team has assured fans that the card-based mechanic will not block the progress of the game behind the microtransactions.

Needless to say, the Switch port will need some compromise compared to the images used in the trailers, but it is also feasible to imagine a scaled-down version of the system. For those of us who don’t exactly want the idea of paying for Cloud Editions of games on Nintendo hardware, it’s nice that an important cross-platform title like this is coming to Switch.
