Maryland launches state vaccine pre-registration site COVID – NBC4 Washington

Maryland has launched a statewide system that allows residents to pre-register for a COVID-19 shot at one of five mass vaccination sites.

Residents can pre-register now at covidvax.maryland.gov or 1-855-MD-GOVAX (1-855-634-6829).

Pre-registration lets the state know you’re interested in getting vaccinated at one of the mass vaccination sites, including Six Flags America in Prince George’s County and Regency Furniture Stadium in South Maryland. After pre-registration, you will be notified when an appointment is available.

“This list allows us to prioritize the supply of vaccines and will allow us to contact you using your preferred method once you need to be eligible to schedule an appointment,” says a video posted by Gov. Larry Hogan.

Maryland currently pre-registers eligible Phase 1 recipients, including residents age 65 and older, health care providers, faculty, and some other essential workers.

To pre-register, you will need to complete a form asking for information that includes your name, contact information, eligibility status, and necessary accommodations.

The questionnaire will also ask you to select two preferred vaccination sites.

After pre-registering, the state will let you know when you can book an appointment.

Pre-registering does not mean you get a vaccine beforehand: vaccines will be made based on eligibility and available supply.

You can also get a vaccine anywhere else, even after pre-registering. When the state contacts you to book an appointment with the vaccine, you can tell them you already have one.

According to a press release, the new state system asks more specific questions than the county health departments. County health departments have been asked to submit their data to the state system.
