Masks that appear in mail marked as sent from Amazon and China are part of the latest scam

Face masks appear in mailboxes, even though recipients say they have not been ordered.

Consumers report that the masks appear only in a normal brown mail envelope, labeled with Amazon and China. However, there are no bills or paperwork, just the face mask.

The Better Business Bureau reports that this is the latest article to be delivered on what is known as a brushing scam.

It is a scam in which companies, often third-party external sellers, mail cheap items to the addresses they find online. Your goal is to try to improve your reviews with Amazon.

Once they receive the articles, they post positive and false reviews to improve their ranking, which could equate to more sales.

Over the years, we have warned you of this scam several times.

During the summer, shipments of seeds from China were used for the brushing scam.

Viewers have also received other items, such as fake gold rings and other trinkets.

If this happens to you, change your Amazon password just to be safe. You can also contact Amazon Customer Service and report fraudulent purchases.

Of course, if you get one of these masks, you just have to throw it away because you don’t know where it has been.

In addition, according to the FTC, you are allowed to keep something that you have not placed an order with if it is specifically sent to your name and address and you do not owe money for it.
