Matthew Mindler, actor “Our Idiot Brother”, has died at the age of 19

On Saturday, Matthew Mindler, a child protagonist known for his role in “Our Idiot Brother,” was found dead. He was 19 years old.

The news of his death comes days after his disappearance in Pennsylvania. The president of the University of Millersville, Daniel A. Wubah, confirmed Mindler’s death in a statement released Saturday.

“It is with a sorrowful heart that I let you know the death of 19-year-old Matthew Mindler of Hellertown, Pennsylvania, a freshman at the University of Millersville. Our thoughts of comfort and peace are with his friends and family during this difficult time, ”Wubah said. “A search for Matthew has been underway since Thursday, after he was reported missing.”

“University of Millersville police and area police agencies have been searching for him ever since. Matthew was found dead Saturday, Aug. 28, in Manor Township near the campus,” the statement added. . “Matthew was taken to the Lancaster County Forensic Center by the coroner for further investigation.”

No cause of death has been shared at this time.

A school press release stated that Mindler had been missing since Tuesday evening and was reported to University police “after he did not return to his room or return calls from his family.”

The college student was last seen walking from his residence around 8:11 p.m. local time Tuesday night.

Mindler’s first acting credit was in a 2009 episode of “As the World Turns.” He also had a role in “Bereavement,” appeared in “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” “Chad: An American Boy,” and in the short film “Frequency.” He played the son of Emily Mortimer and Steve Coogan in the 2011 comedy-drama “Our Idiot Brother”. His last credit as an actor was in 2016.
