McCarthy sends Republicans to the House: “Cut that shit out” and stop fighting

Republican House Leader Kevin McCarthy warned his members to stop discussing with the public at the conference whether they want to effectively appeal Biden Administration and win the majority in 2022, a congressional aide told CBS News.

His forceful message to his teammates from Wednesday’s phone call: “Cut this shit.”

The warning comes when several members of the conference organize one effort to oust number three from the Republican House, Representative of Wyoming Liz Cheney, from her position as conference chair. Cheney voted for it impeach then-President Trump and angered many Republicans by publishing a statement the day before his vote describing his position, which was later cited by several House Democrats during the speech.

McCarthy had previously warned his members to call in public after the McCarthy election January 6 riots at the Capitol because it could endanger his colleagues.

The aide said McCarthy’s frustration was audible on the call and his message was even louder. McCarthy also said the intra-party war was hindering the Republican Party from focusing on political initiatives and countering new president.
