McCarthy sits down to read “Green Eggs and Ham”: “I Still Like It” Dr. Seuss

(R-California) shared a video about himself on Friday night reading a book by Dr. Seuss, days after the news spread that the publication of some of the books of the deceased poet would stop.

McCarthy tweeted the video “I still like Dr. Seuss, so I decided to read Green Eggs and Ham.”

He added: “RT if you still like it too.”

After reading the children’s book aloud dramatically, McCarthy concluded by saying, “Enjoy your day!”

On Tuesday, Dr. Seuss Enterprises announced it would stop publishing six books because of racially insensitive images in its illustrations that “portray people in a bad and wrong way.”

“Stopping sales of these books is only part of our commitment and our broader plan to ensure that Dr. Seuss Enterprises’ catalog represents and supports all communities and families, ”the company told The Associated Press on what motivated the decision.

After the announcement, sales skyrocketed to the books in question, which include “McElligot’s Pool,” “On Beyond Zebra !,” “Scrambled Eggs Super!”, “The Cat’s Quizzer,” “And to Think That I Saw It “on Mulberry Street” and “If you ran to the zoo.”

On Thursday, eBay announced it would also ban the sale of Dr. Offensive books. Seuss, with a spokesman who said the company “is currently sweeping our market to remove these items.”
