McDonald’s addresses Pokémon card warmers in a new statement

Earlier this week, McDonald’s launched a new promotion to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Pokemon franchise. For a limited time, fans can receive TCG packages at Happy Meals or as a standalone purchase from participating locations. Unfortunately, Pokémon cards are quite popular right now and resellers have been picking up promotional cards. There have even been whole card box auctions on eBay. Following ComicBook.com’s previous article on the situation, McDonald’s contacted us to make a statement about its plans to ensure fans can enjoy the current promotion. This statement can be found below.

“We love seeing the fans’ passion for our limited-time Happy Meal promotion celebrating 25 years of Pokémon. With such a high demand for our TCG Pokémon promotional cards, and even some fans are making extreme efforts to achieve We are working quickly to address the shortage and encourage restaurants to set a reasonable limit for Happy Meals sold per customer. We want to offer the full Happy Meal experience to as many families as possible and help ensure everyone can have fun. -se. “

According to McDonald’s, individual restaurants are allowed to decide whether they want to sell a la carte toys or not, but the company’s policy is not to sell Happy Meal toy cases. The company also does not accept the resale of toys through what are known as “unauthorized channels.” Instead, he believes letters should be offered exclusively through promotion.

Some stores already seem to have put limits on the number of toys that can be offered to each customer, with many customers limited to four or five. With the company encouraging stores to set such restrictions, it will be interesting to see whether or not it will prevent some resellers from capturing them before fans can.

For those unfamiliar with the promotion, McDonald’s Happy Meals currently offers 25 Pokémon cards that celebrate the franchise’s history. The cards are offered in blind packs of four, although each card also has a hologram variant. TCG packages come with additional items such as card boxes, stickers and more.
