McDonald’s will launch three chicken sandwiches in February as it tries to reach new customers with more poultry on the menu.

From February 24, consumers will be able to buy the crispy chicken sandwich, the spicy chicken sandwich and the deluxe chicken sandwich.

The fast food giant started trying the crunchy chicken sandwich in Houston and Knoxville, Tennessee, almost a year ago. The sandwich includes a fried chicken fillet served on a buttery, buttered and marinated potato roll. The spicy version comes with a spicy pepper sauce, while the deluxe sandwich includes more toppings: crushed lettuce, romaine tomato and mayo.

In November, executives told investors they would increase the number of chicken menu items because the category grows faster than beef. While the new chicken sandwiches are only part of that strategy, U.S. President Joe Erlinger said at the time that the new options would help consumers see McDonald’s differently.

In recent years, privately owned Chick-fil-A has jumped the other restaurant chains to become the third largest in the United States in sales, lagging behind only Starbucks and McDonald’s. Its chicken-focused menu has attracted new consumers as it has expanded beyond the southern base and intensified competition with McDonald’s.

Other rivals have seen Chick-fil-A challenge challenging with a chicken sandwich, especially Popeyes. Since launching the article almost a year and a half ago, Restaurant Brands International has seen double-digit sales growth in the same store every quarter, despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Shares of McDonald’s, which has a market value of $ 162 billion, fell 2% in the morning trading. Shares ended up 8% higher in 2020.
