MDH: Provider Sent COVID-19 Vaccination Cancellation Messages by Error – WCCO

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) A vendor mistakenly sent a message that some Minnesota people received Saturday morning saying the COVID-19 vaccination appointment was canceled, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

The department said the “vast majority” of people who received the message, sent by Primary Bio, sent it by mistake. They were supposed to receive the message about 20 Minnesota. they had been registered for a vaccination appointment despite not being eligible to do so due to an error in the Primary Bio system, according to the department.

“Our vendor, Primary Bio, has taken full responsibility and apologized to the State of Minnesota and all affected Minnesotas,” an MDH statement said. “Those Minnesota people who received the message in error this morning have received notification that their appointments are confirmed and should show up for the appointment as previously scheduled.”

Primary Bio issued the following statement: “We take full responsibility for the error that occurred earlier today, which caused thousands of Minnesota people to receive incorrect information about their appointment with the vaccine. We have corrected this error. and we have communicated directly to Minnesota that they affected confirmation of his appointment as scheduled. We have apologized to the State of Minnesota and all those Minnesota that have been affected and are taking immediate steps to ensure that it does not happen in the future. “

The original message read: “MDH COVID-19 65+ Vaccine Pilot Program, you could make an appointment with the vaccine even though you were not randomly selected. As a result, we are sorry to inform you that your appointment is not authorized and is no longer valid. As long as you have previously registered for the COVID-19 vaccine pilot program, you will remain on the list of possible future opportunities. Thank you for your patience and understanding. IMPORTANT: Do not visit any vaccine pilot site. Walk-ins are not accepted and you do not have an appointment at this time ”.

Joseph Pettini of Minneapolis was one of the people who received the error message from Primary Bio Saturday morning. He received 15 emails with the same message around 10:45 p.m.

“Frankly, I was a little frantic, because it’s the follow-up appointment and it’s supposed to be within that certain period of time,” Pettini said, “I said,‘ Well, will I have to start from scratch? What does it mean?'”

Once he received the final email saying it was a problem, he felt very relieved.

“I understand that the state is doing the best it can, with what it has,” Pettini said.

Her second dose appointment is on February 11th. His wife, who also meets the requirements, is still on the pre-registered waiting list.

The MDH reported that there is no indication that the message will result on any Saturday.
