Economic transportation company Megabus announced Friday that it has suspended all inbound and outbound travel from Washington, DC, until after the opening day.
Trips to the country’s capital will be suspended from 11:59 p.m. Friday until 11:59 p.m., Jan. 21. said the bus company on Twitter.
“These cancellations are due to restrictions in the Washington, DC area over the next week,” the company said.
Megabus said passengers have received return instructions or reschedule the trip.
On Thursday, the House Oversight Committee sent letters to 27 private travel companies, including Megabus, urging them to set strict rules “to ensure that your services are not used to facilitate domestic violence or terrorism.”
The committee’s request comes after Airbnb said Wednesday it would cancel all bookings in Washington, DC, during opening week.
